VNSF Raises Record-Breaking $70,000 to Benefit Children in Vietnam

Dear friends and supporters of VNSF,

Thank you for your amazing support during the 2014 VNSF Benefit Dinner!
We are overcome by your generosity which helped the Foundation raise a record breaking $70,000 during the event, amount which enables us to not only secure the ongoing education of the 400 children already accepted in the scholarship program, but also register 100 more children in the program. With corporate matching and donations still coming in, we’re well on our way to meeting our $100,000 fundraising goal for the year!

This would not be possible without your incredible support, that helps children in Vietnam get a chance to fight for a better future, through education.

A special thank you also goes to all volunteers that helped make the 2014 Benefit Dinner a success, to Ms. Quan Thai and her family for not only contributing to the donation matching fund with Mr. Tam Nguyen but also for their generous memorial donation of $5,000 to build two Reading Rooms in honor of their mother.
Mr. Rocky Weller, one of our long-time supporters and Dao Xuan Anh Memorial Scholarship donor, and Ms. Nancy Pham were our gracious emcees for the evening. Mr. Vu Le, former Board member and current Board Adviser, led a heartfelt raise the paddle pledge drive. Our very lively Live auction was led by Mr. Thom Bui, our generous donor and newest Board Member! In addition, we had a lot of behind the scenes help from Ms. Quan Thai for helping everything come together. Finally, huge thanks to Mrs. Tram Le for making our registration and check out process the smoothest it’s ever been!

Our special guest speaker for the evening was Mrs. Barbara Gurley, Board member of Technology Services Corp, our new partners who help augment our Reading Rooms with not only computer equipment but training for teachers and students alike. Barbara shared her amazing experience traveling to Vietnam for the first of hopefully many installation of laptops in our An Giang Reading Rooms.

Again, thank you for all you do for our kids. You are a part of their lives too.
My-Linh Van,
VNSF Board Chair
