VNSF Raises Record-Breaking $100,000 to Benefit Children in Viet Nam

Viet Nam Scholarship Foundation is pleased to announce that it raised a record breaking $100,000 during its 2015 Benefit Dinner. This represents a 43% increase compared to the 2014 Annual Benefit Dinner.

“We are extremely grateful to our very generous donors, who didn’t hesitate to give all they could to help underprivileged children in Viet Nam pursue a better future through education. The donations enable VNSF to secure the education of the 571 students we currently have enrolled, including the 93 new students accepted for the 2015-16 school year, and also accept new students into our program.” said Gary Ly, Chair of the Board of Directors for VNSF.

VNSF gives on-going scholarship; once a student is given scholarship it’s not just for 1 year, it’s for the rest of their education.

The cost for sending all 571 current students to school so they complete a 4-year university degree would take 16 years and $650,000 (not adjusting for inflation). VNSF youngest scholars are in 2nd grade. VNSF objective for the next two years is to reach 1,000 enrolled scholars.

Through the years, VNSF had 64 students who graduated high school, and 46 students who graduated university, college or vocational school. Each VNSF scholar who graduates becomes a role model for his community, and the proof that with a little bit of help, and a lot of dedication and work, they can overcome the barrier of poverty, and build a better future for themselves and their family.

“A heartfelt thank you to all of our supporters, donors, volunteers, board members and everyone who made the event possible.”

Great Sponsorship Opportunities for VNSF Annual Benefit Dinner

Viet Nam Scholarship Foundation (VNSF), a 501(c)3 organization (EIN #91-2154453) helps underprivileged students in Viet Nam go to school and get the education they deserve but can’t afford. Over the years, VNSF scholars have graduated from medical, dental, business, engineering, and academic programs, among others.

VNSF is committed to supporting each of our students from the time they are accepted into our scholarship program to the day they graduate. With a dedicated staff and effective management, we are able to support a student’s education from primary school through four years of university in Viet Nam for just $2000. VNSF has helped over 500 students over the past eleven years.

Through its Annual Benefit Dinner, VNSF raises money to support students already accepted in the scholarship program, and include new scholars in the program.

VNSF Annual Benefit dinner gathers 200 generous donors, who come from a wide demographic. Most of our guests range in age from mid-20’s to 50’s. Many work at local technology, engineering companies such as Microsoft and Boeing.

By becoming a corporate sponsor, your company has the opportunity for great exposure to a very united community of business people, working together for a great cause. All proceeds go towards new and current scholarships, and are tax-deductible according to federal and state laws.

Sponsorship opportunities are now available at all levels for the 2015 Annual Benefit Dinner. For more information on becoming a sponsor, please contact Gary Ly at 206.412.1181 or garyly@vietnamscholarshipfoundation.org.
