Michael Bunney became a VNSF supporter many years ago after learning that in Vietnam children don’t automatically get to go to school—especially if they live in rural areas or come from poor families. In the absence of education, such families are often trapped in intergenerational cycles of poverty.
He was moved by the stories of the children who were getting an education because their tuition had been paid by VNSF scholarships. He was impressed by the impact this dedicated group of volunteers and supporters was making.
Michael joined the board in 2018, and is excited about the work that he and his colleagues are doing to lay the foundation for VNSF’s future. With a professional background in information technology, he is interested in exploring how the organization can make judicious use of technology to streamline the administrative work that is growing in proportion to VNSF’s success in sponsoring a growing roster of scholars from primary school to college.
